Eyelid Reduction Surgery

Woman With Blue EyesRemoval of Excess Skin from Upper Eye Lids – (Blepharoplasty)

If you have droopy eyelids or bags under your eyes, then blepharoplasty can help smooth these out to give you a more alert and youthful appearance, and can be carried out on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both with minimal scarring.

Blepharoplasty removes excess skin, fat and muscle from around your eyes. The surgery itself takes around around one or two hours, or less if you’re having just the upper or lower eyelid done however an overnight stay in hospital is sometimes required. The operation can be performed under general anesthetic, which means you will be asleep during the procedure, or under local anesthetic where the area around your eyes will be numb but you will be awake. You will need to plan some time off work to rest and recover.
