Hair Transplantation Methods
There are 2 methods that frequently applied today. Those methods are:
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT):
“Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)” is the most applied hair transplantation method in the most advance and sophisticated hair transplantation clinics of the world today. In this method, the hairy tissue taken from the healthy and hairy area on neck is transplanted on sparse or bald area through proper techniques without compromising their natural forms under microscope and by dividing into clusters of 1, 2, 3 and 4 in such manner as to contain hair and follicles. The area where hair is taken on neck is seamed in accordance with plastic and reconstructive methods. Therefore the visibility sutures are reduced to the lowest minimum and that the sutures could only be seen if the hair is totally shaved off. The sutures are taken out in 12-15 days following the surgery. Hair string, hair line to be applied as well as the compatibility of available hair to the hair growth direction can only be designed by an expert in the placement (transplantation) stage of the hair clusters prepared. The difference between a hair transplantation that looks natural and the one that looks bad is something to do with the artistic skills of the expert’s hands by which the transplantation has been carried out.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a method of transplantation in which follicles are taken individually from neck or from specific body parts by special slim needles and transplanted onto sparse or bald areas. As there are no sutures applied on neck, it is not possible see any suture traces.
Properly applied FUT and FUE methods have no differences from one another in terms of their outcomes. Having the hair line and its directions arranged properly, then the outcomes of both methods will look natural.
